I've said it before, but this time I really, really mean it. Fastest and best six months of life yet. Colby just makes every day better.
He is such a happy, funny, healthy, loving baby. The boys skip all of those adjectives, though, and get straight to the point. For months now, they both say, "He's a cute little chubby baby!" It's practically his name. I'm guessing he'll outgrow the nickname, but both say it so lovingly that I love it, too.
Some recent favorites, proving it's true...
Luckily Colby doesn't seem to be in any big hurry to grow up (despite the chart-topping weigh-ins, that is.) He is teething with all of the drool and putting his hand in his mouth a lot, but no teeth yet. He has been working on rolling over for a couple of weeks, and does the 3/4 roll no problem. Two mornings now he's woken up on his tummy, so I know he can do it. But like I said, he's in no hurry to make rolling a big thing.
We just introduced rice cereal into his world on the day he turned 6 months old. So far he seems to like it. He swallows, makes a funny little face, and opens his mouth for more. Tomorrow we will introduce sweet potatoes, so I hope he likes those!
He really enjoys grabbing toys and is beginning to really interact with them. This little contraption has been fun to give him a different view when the big boys are playing in the back yard...
We'll go to the doctor in another week and a half, so we'll have all of the official measurements then. I weighed him myself last week, and I think Colby is right about 22 lbs.
Also this month we will celebrate his Dedication at church. I'm really looking forward to a morning set aside to thank God for our newest blessing and to celebrate Colby. I will love him every day forever and ever, but I love this 6-months-old age a WHOLE lot. Love, love, love my baby!
