It started snowing yesterday, turned to sleet overnight, and has really been coming down all day! We've got about a foot of snow outside already. It's supposed to snow all day. We've gotten extra time with Ryan, since the bank closed at 1 yesterday and didn't open for today (Saturday). The boys have been excited about the snow, too. We're all looking forward to building a snowman, but so far we can't get so much as a snowball out of this snow. Yesterday we made snow cream (yum!) and the boys ran around the backyard with Ryan before it got too deep (maybe about 6" then.) The only bummer about the snow is that it caused us to postpone Brady's birthday party that was scheduled for tomorrow. We're making the most of it, though, and if the roads are decent, grandparents are coming over tomorrow to have a birthday meal and give Brady his presents. Hopefully I'll have pictures of that to post tomorrow. :)
Today while Colby napped, Ryan built a little snow mountain so that the boys could sled in our front yard. I was out with them and got some cute pictures. The boys loved the hill!
About 20 minutes in, Brady's little fingers were freezing and he was ready to come in. We snuggled and warmed him up in time for his nap. Within seconds of putting Brady down for his nap, Colby was awake. We came downstairs and he had a late lunch.
I kept peeking out at Ryan and Anderson and snapping pictures of them being cute. Apparently Anderson wanted to help shovel snow...
He wanted a smaller shovel, so a soup spoon was the best I could come up with. He was very satisfied. :)
Anderson was finally ready to come in after being out in the blizzard for well over an hour. I made him take one more picture because he looked so cute in his snow bibs.
No surprise, after all of that sledding and shoveling, quiet time quickly became...
naptime.
So fun!
